Seniors in Service (SIS), sponsor of the Foster Grandparent and Senior Companion Programs of Northern Nevada, is committed to respecting your privacy and has in place the following privacy policy.

HIPAA

Because the programs are federal and state, SIS is held to HIPAA Privacy Policy Standards. The policy to which we must adhere can be found on this link and applies to all volunteers and clients served by our programs.

Personal Information that SIS May Collect

Form information is used solely for the purpose of volunteer recruitment, respite applications, client referrals, and potential donors. SIS does not sell nor distribute personal information to other business or personal entities. Your information will only be used for the purpose you intend. We do not use information for research purposes.

How Your Information May Be Shared

Personal Information may be released under the following circumstances:

  • Where release is required by law (for example, a subpoena) or regulation, or is requested by an agency for governmental investigative purposes or governmental proceedings;
  • Where our records indicate a company or individual may be engaged in fraudulent activity or other deceptive practices that a government agency should be made aware of;
  • To appropriate persons, where your communication suggests possible harm to others.

Computer Tracking and Cookies

Our website is not set up to track, collect or distribute personal information not entered by its visitors. Our site logs do generate certain kinds of non-identifying site usage data, such as the number of hits and visits to our site. This information is used for internal purposes but contain no personal data and cannot be used to gather such information.

A cookie is a small amount of data that is sent to your browser from a Web server and stored on your computer’s hard drive. SIS uses non-identifying cookies to provide easier site navigation and access to forms. You can still use the SIS site if your browser is set to reject cookies. Our cookies do not generate personal data, do not read personal data from your machine, and are never tied to anything that can be used to identify you.
